Keen fishermen, boat enthusiasts, four wheel drivers and campers will be in outdoors heaven this weekend when the premier outdoors event for 2016, the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo hits the Brisbane Showgrounds from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 March.
With more than 20,000 square metres dedicated to everything outdoor related, including caravanning, camping, four wheel driving and boating, the Show will boast the biggest names in the industry, displaying their latest products and services, including ARB, Opposite Lock, TJM, WAECO, Kingdom 4WD, Conqueror, Eagers Holden, Engel and Isuzu UTE Australia. Showgoers will also be amongst the first to see a number of brand new products launched at the event.
In what will be the premier outdoors event for this year, the National 4×4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo is not to be missed, with exciting special guests, industry experts, interactive features and activities all providing hours of entertainment for all interests.
The adrenaline-pumping Action Arena will return to the Show this weekend, living up to its name with a number of thrilling and colourful performances to get hearts racing. Every day on the Action Arena visitors will have the chance to see quad bikes battling it out in races across the track, side by side buggies rushing around, The Springs 4×4 Time Trials entertaining the crowd and amazing skills on show in a Micky Thompson Tyre Changing Competition.
From the Off Road Rush Team, the ‘Off Road Buggy’ and new ‘Trophy Truck’ will also be whipping their way around the Action Arena across the three Show days. And for those visitors who are brave enough, the truck and buggy will be offering hot laps, so adventurous visitors can go for a spin around the arena if they dare.
For those who like to go off the beaten track, the dedicated Eagers Holden Colorado Proving Ground will offer visitors the rare chance to test out four wheel drive products on a specialty-built track before they purchase. There will also be four wheel drive experts on hand providing safety and recovery demonstrations, towing technique training, off-road education, and advice to ensure a risk and danger-free adventure. Special guests V8 drivers Craig Lowndes, Jamie Whincup and Shan Van Gisbergen, and NRL greats Petero Civoniceva and Trevor Gillmeister will also make appearances at the Eagers Holden stand, signing autographs across the weekend.
Peter ‘Spida’ and Sheree Everitt from The Great Australian Doorstep will host the Engel Australia Cooking Stage, which will deliver tips and tricks to cook a tasty meal while camping or on the road. Joining Spida and Sheree on stage will be cricketing legend, Andrew Symonds, along with John ‘Roothy’ Rooth and fishing and boating reporter Paul Burt. Engel Australia will also be bringing along Ernie Dingo and David Hodge to help take your campfire cooking skills up a notch.
Joining the line-up of special guests will also be Shaun and Graham from 4WD Action, Rick and Jamie from The Off Road Adventure Show, and Jase Andrews from All 4 Adventure. Shaun will also feature on the Exclusive Tyre Distributors stand on Sunday 13 March at 12pm, answering questions about how to select tyres, driving techniques and sharing his experience with visitors.
Channel 10’s Off Road Adventure Show personality, Steve ‘Starlo’ Starling, will appear on the popular Fishing Stage alongside his wife, Jo Starling, who will be talking about how ‘the family that fishes together, stays together’ and sharing tales from their fishing adventures.
Each special guest has their own unique, exciting and interesting stories to share, and can provide fantastic advice to those who love the great Australian outdoors.
The little ones will be entertained throughout the Show with a dedicated Kids Terrain located within the boating section of the Show, offering exciting rides such as an inflatable monster truck, bungy trampolines, water balls and jungle jeeps.
