Jumpinpin Fishing Well for Tailor and Jewfish

Hello everyone!  Brett has taken some well-earned leave for a week or two, so the fishing report has been left up to me this week.  From all the reports we hear it has  been a good week to get out and about on the Gold Coast and chase a few fish.

We are still experiencing some very unseasonably warm weather which is making it still very pleasant for a fish during the day or night time hours. The cooler weather must be on the way as the news reports tell me yesterday that the first whales of the season have been spotted off the Gold Coast in the last few days.

Jumpinpin Bar has been fishing well for Tailor, Jew fish and some nice Squire on the incoming tide.  See the photo sent to us by Phillip of the nice Tailor caught at the pin end of Jumpinpin during the week.  Find the birds and again you will find the fish, live baits for the jewfish will work well.  Try trolling Lures or casting metals slugs for Tailor and Squire.

We have a busy week-end on the Gold Coast this week-end with the Sanctuary Cove Boat and the Gold Coast City Marina Expo. If you are in the market for a boat or just want to dream, try and make it down for a look.  Both shows have on display everything boating.

Our Customers are reporting plenty of mud crabs about, but it can be a struggle to find the big bucks, the pots seem to be filling with large females and the smaller bucks, all of which must be released.

At the time of writing it looks like we will see winds from the South S/SE over the next couple of days getting a bit stronger on Saturday, but dropping off again to make Sunday and Monday the pic of the next few days.  Till next week, good fishing, Mike.
