This past month has seen limited numbers of bass caught, but the quality is there with a little bit of dedicated hard work and some cold morning starts.
These fish are thick but difficult to catch – once you spot lock they are out of there and are moving around – still trying to settle after the water change over the past four weeks.
Dave’s Lures, Voo- doo, RMG, Whiptail Piglet and Bullship lures have all result- ed in great catches of yellowbelly and bass, especially around the Kirkleagh Flats area.

Redclaw crab catch- es have been pretty good around the 2.5m mark using cantaloupe and sweet potato as main bait, but don’t be scared to mix up a concoction of different baits and put these into crab pots.
