Barra not the only Catch worth Weighing In

This Friday marks the start of the 2015 Clancy Corporation Lake Moondarra Fishing Classic and 3 days of family fun!

Iconic for its reputation as a ‘Big Barra’ competition organisers the Mount Isa Fish Stocking Group remind competitors that Barra aren’t the only great catch worth weighing in!

“There is six species on the list for prize winning categories, and of these six we have a mystery weight and junior and senior prize for each” said Co-Event Manager George Fortune.

“Team these with the junior and senior champion angler and lucky nomination prizes, the perpetual trophies for Heaviest Overall Barramundi and Sooty Grunter and of course the $50,000 Mount Isa Water Board Tagged Barra and simply weighing in your catch could have you in with a chance of winning some great prizes”.

Prize related species for the 2015 Clancy Corporation Lake Moondarra Classic include the kiddies favourite Archer Fish, good fighting Sooty Grunter and Longtom and Sleepy Cod, Catfish and Barramundi.

A maximum of 18 fish per individual entrant are permitted to be weighed in throughout the competition and no more than 3 fish of any one species.

With only ‘Legal’ sized fish also eligible to be weighed in competitors are encouraged to refer to their nomination forms for minimum sizes or the Rules section of the Fishing Classic website.

Encouraging catch and release techniques the nomination tent opens at 6pm this Friday October 23 and closes for final weigh-ins at 6pm Sunday October 25 with nominations now open.
