Quantum Smoke HD Baitcast reels

THE HD in the Quantum Smoke HD Baitcast reel stands for ‘heavy duty’, aiming this reel squarely at anglers targeting barramundi, Murray cod, mangrove jack, fingermark, threadfin salmon, bass and other tough predators likely to smack a well-placed lure.

The HD build starts with the famous Smoke baitcaster platform, known for its lightweight yet strong SCR aluminium frame and side cover – all protected by Quantum’s SaltGuard 2.0 anti-corrosion treatment. From there the heavy-duty features continue. The Quantum Smoke HD models are all 200 size baitcasters with a line capacity of 190 yards of 30lb braid. The design includes seven stainless steel ball bearings and a Continuous Anti-Reverse clutch.

Smoke HD’s worm gear is ceramic for added durability and is matched with a tough zirconia pawl. The line guide is titanium nitride coated. The machined aluminium handle is a big 95mm for extra crank, and is fitted with large EVA knobs. True to its Smoke pedigree, the list of performance features is equally as impressive.

The Zero Friction pinion design enables incredible casting distance, even more so when you fine-tune the Infinite ACS externally adjustable cast control and micro-tuned spool clicker tension knob for precise customisation to suit your casting style, lure size and prevailing conditions. The PT gearing feels impeccably smooth and when a big fish strikes, the CSC2 carbon fibre, stainless steel and ceramic drag system has 25lb of lock-down power to give you the advantage needed to land big fish.

Right-hand and left-hand wind models are available in both gearing configurations, offering anglers a choice of the versatile 6.6:1 format or fast 7.3:1 gear ratio. The cosmetics stick with the Smoke family’s matte black base and the HD models are finished with attractive gold trim.

All Quantum Smoke HD Baitcast reels are lubricated with premium Quantum Hot Sauce grease and oil at the factory, so they’re ready to cast further and fight harder straight out of the box. Visit quantumfishing.com.au for more information.
