New Mercury Active Trim System Revolutionises Trimming Your Boat

MERCURY Marine’s new Active Trim system is now available for boat lovers.

The new technology has already gained fans around the world for the way it automatically and effortlessly trims an engine or engines.

Mercury Active Trim doesn’t just make boating easier and more fun, it also improves engine performance and cuts fuel costs while delivering a better overall driving experience.

Mercury director of Accessories Paul McLean said what puts Active Trim ahead of the competition is its patented and integrated GPS-based control system that takes into account both your boat speed and rpm when deciding on the ideal trim position.

“It also solves issues with the engine trimming up too early or too late while the boat is getting up on a plane,” he said.

“It’s a great system that’s a step ahead of the rest.”

Active Trim has five selectable trim profiles that accommodate nearly any boat application, so there’s no need to manually enter trim settings versus rpm.

Owners can simply run their boat and select the best profile for any application.

They can then personalise Active Trim to their driving style and/or compensate for changes in boat load, operator preference and ocean conditions.

This means Active Trim can be used on high-performance boats as well as family runabouts, with drivers able to easily disengage and re-engage the system as needed just by using the manual trim buttons.

Active Trim is compatible with any new Mercury outboard or MerCruiser engine with SmartCraft capability, and the system can also be retrofitted to earlier-model engines.

Active Trim – it’s like changing your car from a manual to an automatic – it’s just one less thing to worry about and adds saving fuel into the bargain.
