Boondooma Dam Yellowbelly Fishing Competition Feb 11-12

THE 2017 Boondooma Dam Yellowbelly Fishing Competition will take place on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12.

Entry prices for the event are $20 for adults and $5 for juniors aged 16 years and under.

Last year’s competition saw record numbers of anglers in attendance, both new to the tournament and returning, with 835 entrants including 202 juniors, and all went home with smiles on their faces.

The ongoing support of many generous sponsors has ensured a wide range of prizes available for all competitors, and over $30,000 in cash and prizes will be given away over the weekend.

Cash and prizes will be presented at the end of each of the three sessions and overall competition winners will be crowned at the conclusion of the event.

Food and drink stalls will be provided by local community groups and the South Burnett Regional Council’s great camping facilities are ready to be put to good use by campers staying at the lake.

Profits from the event are used to supplement fishing permit funds from the Queensland Government, and to date about 5 million fingerlings have been stocked into Lake Boondooma thanks to the combined funds.
